My experience as a Trustee started with sitting with my father and sister at many Hui starting in 1988 to becoming an executive of many committee representative of Maori locally and nationally. As the Chairperson of the Porangahau Maori Committee in 2011 joined eight Ngati Kere whanau members through governance training in Lower Hutt and the Committee reported to the Ngati Kere Rohe Trustee who were formed at a Hapu Hui in 1986-87. During this period, I also became an executive on the Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc Matauranga committee between 2011-2013. In a natural progression I became an executive of Ngati Kere Rohe Trustee.
I am also the current chairperson of the National Digital Maori Forum Society.

My relevant skills include being experienced and trained in governance, management and strategic development. Have 12 year’s experience in project development, project management and in business management. Experienced and trained in business marketing with Microsoft certification in MS Office.

My personal attributes and qualities include being an owner operator of a Maori media business and a Maori microwave broadband company. I am a focused and a driver of Hapu/Whanau as a positive supported by my close and personal relationship with Aotearoa political members. I also have close and personal relationship with national and international cutting edge technology companies. Have created and implemented a DigitalD strategy that is putting more Maori into the digital economy. Have a close and personal involvement with international indigenous organisations like IDX in Sydney and am a qualified master builder.

My vision of achievement as a Trustee if to firstly support Hapu/Whanau members in developing HTST structures that will substantiate operating within. Also to fully support Hapu/Whanau development by growing participation as well as creating and growing innovative economic development from grassroots by protecting and utilising Hapu/Whanau intellectual knowledge and intellectual property to create areas of sustainability.

My Marae / Hapū involvement has been over forty years from the cook house to an executive Trustee. Starting with the refurbishment of Rongomaraeroa buildings in the eighties. Supported Kohanga Reo in. Worked on and supported the creation of the Waka from day one on our Marae. (note: it started as a Tamatea Waka). I was a Porangahau Maori Committee member 1988-2011 and became the chairperson between 2001-2012.

Spent eleven years in the process of the HTST claim with many questions and answers to queries passes onto others. Was a Maori committee executive we rebuilt the Kaumatua flats which were affected by the flood of 2008. I supported the implementation of Taiapure committee over the 17 year process and an active executive member also supported and worked on the implementation of the Ngati Kere Tangata Kaitiaki committee over seven years and an active executive member.
