YOUR VISION FOR WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE AS A TRUSTEE
As a Trustee I would like to achieve a number of things which include:
Ensuring my marae (Omahu), my hapu (Ngati Hinemanu & Ngai Te Upokoiri) and the people in which I represent, have a voice, & have major influences at the table. Especially with regards to activity within our takiwā.
I would like to see a thriving Tribal economy in which our people are healthy, stable and are economically secure.
I was brought up, and raised on Omahu Marae, & lived in the community. I have played for our local rugby league team Omahu Huia since I was 5 & kept an active role in supporting, tangi/ community events when I am home. Of recent, I have been working with the community around education & employment pathways ensuring Whenua Kura is known within the community.
I am a very driven individual, hardworking, reliable & always looking at ways to ensure our people are prosperous & thriving. My roots are in Omahu, & I am proud of where I have come from. I want to ensure my people have a voice at the table, & that Omahu is recognised again as the power house it is. I want to ensure & re- position Omahu’s influence at the table & ensure we are at the forefront for all Ngati Hinemanu, Ngai Te Upokoiri, affairs & within our takiwa. Through this I want to ensure that this flows on to the whanui. (Heretaunga Tamatea), & that our Tribal economic base, health & well-being are at the forefront of all our decisions, which effect our people. In particularly ensuring our rangatahi have a place in the world & have the tools to succeed as Maori.
